Mark Sonouvong of San Diego

A GoFundMe Account has been set up to support the family:

“Mr. Sanouvong is an 81 year old husband, father, and grandfather, who was unfortunately beat in his own neighborhood during his routine morning walk on December 17, 2021 around 10am. The Lincoln Park / Chollas View neighborhood of Southeast San Diego, CA, is home to many Lao people, and it is very surprising that this happened in our own neighborhood. He immigrated to the US from Laos to find freedom and a better life for his family, only to go through this at his age now.

I’ve spoken directly to his son Aron Soukphilanouvong if he was open to having a gofundme. He did not have any knowledge on how to start one and wasn’t too big on internet, but gave me his permission to do one for his family’s behalf. Aron told me how his dad is going through a lot of pain in his ribs and left eye, and there will be multiple hospital visits. Your support will definitely help and will be greatly appreciated. I will make sure 100% of your donation goes to help Mr. Sanouvong.

My name is Kennedy Phounsiri (aka EraNetik) and I have known Mr. Sanouvong since I was young and lived in this same neighborhood up until my 20s. He was a friend of my grandpa’s (rip) and mom, so it only made sense to use my platform to help raise awareness and support his medical bills. I hope that with the community’s support, we could make a difference.

We truly hope justice is served, but also ask for your prayers and positivity for his recovery. Thank you and much love.”
