Parking in Koreatown, Los Angeles

Parking is pretty expensive, but these are a few places that aren’t too bad to park.

Look for large, boarded up buildings. Fewer people = fewer cars = better odds at finding a street parking space.

When visiting the seniors on our NSC visits, we park at the Equitable building, on Wilshire and Mariposa (enter on Mariposa). It’s $5 in the evenings. (During the day, it’s topping out at $15.)

When we start our NSC regular walk from the Carl’s Jr. on Western, don’t park at Carl’s. They tow. There’s more street parking toward the west.

If you’re going to buy something at H-Mart on 6th, you can get free parking for a little while. The only problem is, H-Mart is expensive for a grocery store. The food is good, though.

If you are just going to be around a short while, metered street parking on Wilshire and the perpendicular streets, is pretty good. You have to feed the meter.

A lot of storefronts have parking behind them. You can get validation. Again, this can be expensive, but the food is usually great, so… bring cash and an appetite.

Consider taking Metro! Ktown has three stops: Vermont @ Wilshire, Normandie @ Wilshire, and Western @ Wilshire. The main bus running down Wilshire is the 18 (fka the 720).
